TREE FOR LIFE LAUNCHING DAY: SAHESS Joins Forces for a Greener Tomorrow

On June 5th, 2025, Sacred Heart Senior High School had the honor of participating in the launching of the Tree for Life initiative, a program aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and contributing to a greener future. The ceremony was held at the school's premises, with Mr. Yusif Haruna, the Nsoatre range manager, guiding the event and providing crucial insight into the day’s activities.

Mr. Faruna shared the importance of this event, explaining that the Cedrela tree was selected to meet the specific demands of the school. The tree’s growth and future planting will benefit the school community and contribute positively to the local ecosystem.

The ceremony was conducted with care and precision. Though a traditional measuring tape was unavailable, an innovative technique was used to measure the planting spaces: students used a four-by-four step measurement to ensure proper spacing for each tree. This creative method ensured that the planting was both accurate and effective.

According to the range manager, the Tree for Life initiative is part of a larger effort by the Nsoatre Range to promote environmental stewardship through corporate social responsibility. Sacred Heart Senior High School's involvement in this event marks a significant step forward in the school's commitment to sustainability.

As Mr. Faruna concluded, he expressed hopes for continued collaboration and engagement in future tree-growing activities, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in caring for the environment.

🌳 The Cedrela tree represents more than just a plant – it is a symbol of growth, hope, and the positive impact that small actions can have on the planet.

We look forward to seeing the lasting benefits of this event and the ongoing efforts of Sacred Heart Senior High School in promoting environmental awareness.
