Stakeholders Unite in Nsoatre to Tackle WASSCE Examination Malpractice
Nsoatre, Bono Region — On Wednesday, 30th July 2025, the Assembly Hall of Sacred Heart Senior High School became the centre of a powerful call to action as education authorities, traditional leaders, security agencies, religious bodies, and community representatives gathered for a joint seminar on the theme “Combating Examination Malpractice in WASSCE in Ghana.”
The event, hosted by Sacred Heart Senior High School, was organised in collaboration with the District Education Directorate (Sunyani West), Regional Education Directorate (Bono Region), Catholic Education Unit (Sunyani), Basic Schools in Nsoatre, Nsoatre Traditional Council, Nsoatre Police Station, and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Opening Remarks
Headmistress Rev. Sis. Benedicta Uzokwe welcomed the audience, stressing that examination malpractice undermines the quality of education and must be addressed through collective responsibility.

Key Messages from Stakeholders
In his keynote address, Mr. Issah Baffoe Bonnie urged schools to adopt modern technology for exam supervision, cultivate honesty as a core value, and encourage students to work hard for genuine success.
Chief Inspector Issac Iyivy described malpractice as dishonesty during examinations and called for surveillance systems to curb the trend.
Alhaji Ali Bin Sadick urged parents to stop offering bribes for grades, saying it damages their children’s integrity.
Nana Okyei Baffour Agyemang II stressed that any teacher or student caught aiding malpractice should face legal consequences.
Outgoing Senior Prefect Miss Kezia encouraged her peers to remain disciplined and strive for true excellence.
Resolutions and Closing
Stakeholders resolved to strengthen school-community monitoring, intensify moral education, enforce examination laws, and maintain continuous dialogue on the issue.
Chairperson Mr. Peter Kumi applauded the united front shown by all parties, calling on stakeholders to turn words into action. Girls’ Prefect Miss Dadzie Ohenewaa Britney expressed gratitude on behalf of the school.
The event closed with a renewed commitment from all sectors to safeguard the credibility of the WASSCE and uphold academic integrity in Ghana.
