THE ORANGE LEAGUE 2025 — Using Sports to Raise Our Voices Against Sexual Harassment
Theme: “Ctrl + Alt + Delete: Erase Sexual Harassment – Protect Physical and Digital Spaces.”
Sacred Heart Senior High School proudly joined the global community in marking the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with an exciting and impactful event—The Orange League, a day of competitive sports dedicated to increasing awareness on sexual harassment and promoting safety, respect, and unity among learners.
The school’s four houses came alive with energy as students competed in a variety of athletic and team events including:
-
100m, 200m & 400m races
-
High jump & long jump
-
Javelin, shot put & discus throw
-
Volleyball & football matches
While the sports brought excitement, the heart of the event centered on spreading powerful messages about sexual harassment prevention, reporting mechanisms, and digital safety.
Orange is the official colour of the global campaign—symbolizing hope, a brighter future, and a world free from violence.
Throughout the event, students wore orange armbands and gathered around banners and posters carrying messages such as:
“Your Body, Your Right.”
“Speak Up, Report, Support.”
"Safety Online. Safety Offline.”
Short educational announcements between activities helped students understand the forms of sexual harassment—physical, verbal, and digital—and encouraged them to report concerns to teachers, the Safe Space Focal Person, or designated school authorities.
Boys and girls participated equally, reinforcing the message that everyone has a role in ending sexual harassment. Male students were encouraged to join the HeForShe movement, serving as allies for safer campuses.
The day ended with a renewed commitment from the entire school community to uphold zero tolerance for sexual harassment.
